For years I had this weird, sinking feeling that the fix was in, and chalked it up that I was just paranoid as an aging GenXer. With a nasty recent divorce, and geriatric Boomer controlling parents - that didn't help any sensations of being jaded and bitter.

I realize now it was never about the money or the differed gratification or compounding or wage stagnation or skills mismatch or any of it. It was always a ploy to steal time. It's really simple.

Not doing things now so we can maybe do things later maybe. That's the big con.
